Lubbock is an important city in the USA state Texas and is a county seat of Lubbock county .City is also known as due to the home of Texas Tech University .According to the population Lubbock is the 90th largest city of the USA .Nickname of the city is Hub City because of the healthcare ,education and economical facilities provided in the city .Area is also known as due to highest production of the cotton in the world and USA .
City has a semi aird climate.Eighteen inches rainfall and ten inches snowfalls is received by the city per year .Although temperature decreases during the night time but average temperature during the June ,July and August is 32C.Highest ever recorded temperature of the city is 46 C .Winter season is known as mild but at time of night during the winter season some time temperature reaches below the freezing point .
Economy of the area is mainly depends upon agriculture .Due to the production of the cotton crop area is famous through out the world .For the irrigation of the crops water is supplied through the Ogallala Aquifer ..For fulfilling the needs of water in a long term much progress is being made for the new water conservations .Major employer of the city are Texas Tech University ,Lubbock Independent School District ,United supermarkets ,Texas Tech University Health Sciences Centre and Lubbock County .City is a home of large number of supercentres and shopping centres .
For fulfilling the necessary needs of education Lubbock has a large number of school ,colleges and universities .Texas Tech University is the biggest institute of higher education working in the city .Lubbock also has many college campuses in the city including South Plains College .
